Tupuna to Mokopuna: Honouring our ancestry to the future

We deeply value the Core Human Characteristics, Matohiaga (Ancestry - past, present and future), which reinforces the significance of our heritage and the interconnectedness of all generations. Our Tupuna (elders and grandparents) provide us with wisdom and guidance, shaping the foundation upon which we build our lives. ​The Matua generation, including my husband, sister-in-law and I, are committed to honouring this legacy through our actions and decisions today. We strive to be the bridge between our past and future, ensuring that the values and teachings of our ancestors are carried forward.
Our Mokopuna (grandchildren and their descendants) represent the future, carrying the legacy of our heritage into the generations to come. The Tupuna to Mokopuna Framework embodies this continuity, drawing from the rich pool of ancestral knowledge to inform and inspire our present and future endeavours.
